Showing at the Eric Morecambe Centre… The Hurst Children’s Theatre Group, are donning their hippie gear for their 1960’s show. Far out!
‘The Beat Goes On and On’ is a show written especially for the youngsters, by the director’s father, Mike Hurst. During the 60’s Mike was a hugely successful record producer, working with the likes of Manfred Mann, Cilla Black, Cat Stevens and Marc Bolan -to name a few. The show is written with wit and humour drawn from his own experiences of the music business during that time.
It tells the story of a Fab 4 who, funnily enough, come from Liverpool. They’re called THE GROTTLES and they’re soon discovered by Harry Slime – Theatrical Agent. That’s when the trouble starts for Harry. The show is packed with laughs and musical numbers from the 60’s, supported by a professional rock ‘n’ roll band.
It’s an opportunity for all the family to enjoy the magic of the theatre, with a great couple of hours entertainment and great music. You’ll be laughing and cheering your way through the whole show. Groovy baby!
